Can anyone tell me if this is a serial # for Mariner Magnum 40 hp? 321735 there is possibly a J and a 1 below this number with some kind of logo between them. This is on a plate that is bolted with the upper transom mount bolt and there is one on each side. I would really appriciate some help. Thanks in advance.

That is a 'stern support' from an OMC engine (Johnson/Evinrude). Nothing to do with a Mariner engine...

wow....I'm getting nowhere....where can I find a serial #. Do you think someone put a mariner cover on a OMC engine? Here is a pic of engine.

Look on the opposite side of position A, or in position B. It will also be on the powerhead somewhere.... And no, nobody put a Johnson cover on a Mariner engine. Someone did use an OMC part somewhere.

I checked position A and B and still have not located any numbers. This number is on the cylinder head in two places 10176359. Maybe the 0 is a letter? I don't know but I saw that somewhere else in these forums and now can't find it.
