Thanks. Can you tell me where I can find a used electric starter assembly for this motor or the part number for the starter that will fit this motor? It looks like, based on a little research, starter pn. 585056. Is there a solenoid that is needed as well? It currently has not electric starter so I am not sure where to begin. Thanks again.

Click on Electronic Parts Catalog, then select OB Accesories from the drop-down list where it says Evinrude. Then follow the prompts to the 40hp Electric Starting kit for 1991. It shows everything that is involved, with all the part numbers and prices.
