most of these posts are more than five years old, and everyone seems to be on the right track with their diagnosis. But I haven't seen any posts of their problems being fixed. Is that because they're still having these problems? Didn't anyone's suggestions solve anything?
Or did everyone fix their boat and now you are all out playing with it, and don't have the time to come back and thank anybody for their help?
At least you could follow up by telling us what actually did fix it. Unless nothing worked and you just sunk it.
Anyway my problem isn't stalling, or backfiring, my only issue is the slight hesitation as soon as the secondary's open, then she takes off like a bat outa hell. I have a 25' Arriva with a 454 330hp crate motor. Everything from the wing nut on top of the Rochester Q-Jet spread bore carb down to the drain plug, is brand new. I have a total of 12hours runtime on the engine. I think that pretty much covers everyone suggested fixes. Yet here I am with this damn slight hesitation. The one thing that I didn't mention was that my spread bore carb sits on a square bore intake manifold with an adapter plate. So my question is rather obvious. I really don't mind the hesitation, it kind of warns my passengers to grab on to something, cause here we go!
