454 merc plug and wire suggestions

need to change plugs and wires, want to upgrade while i am at it. first time doing a plug change on a boat. <br />So what do you prefer? Brand, etc.<br />Any pointers that would make a plug change on a boat different from a car?<br />Also want to upgrade the air filter on the carb so I think i am going with K & N unless someone else suggest something better.<br />I have a 454 merc magnum in a 1989 24 ft baja sport<br /><br />Thanks

Well the air filter SHOULD be a USCG approved flame arrestor to be both SAFE and LEGAL.<br /><br />K&N does make these but there not gonna be at the auto part store<br /><br />i would use the plug merc recmonends AC or NGK are good plugs<br /><br />Spark plug wires are a topic of hot debate as to the true difference in marine wire BUT there is spec <br /><br /><br />tommays
