'46 Firestone - manual(s), parts, misc., etc.

Just picked up a couple vintage outboards and a stand for $50. A '46 Firestone 3.5hp, # E 463 61542 , this stamping is off the starboard side of the water outlet housing just under the motor. The motor was a bit tight; so, I removed the plug and spayed a bit of WD-40 in the cylinder and worked the flywheel back and forth a few times and it freed up. Sadly, the fuel tank on this one is full of pin holes on the top area. I've never gotten into this sort of an endeavor, and would like to know if there's a proven method of restoring the interior of the tank with some sort of coating. I've seen some products online but I'm curious if anyone has tried such a method and had it work. The other motor is a '67/68 McCulloch 4hp, # 81705 - 11114. This should just need a good tank and system flush to get it up and purring. I'd like to find the oem manual(s) if possible to tear them down and rebuild them properly. Here are a couple photo's for now. Thanks in advance . . .
oh ya, go ahead, tell me I should have used that Fifty to light up a good cigar instead - - -

thanks - that was one of the two products I'd earmarked for possible use. I'll give this one a try . . .

Hmmm, it seems that this has been apart before (not surprised)
Now, it seems that there are suppose to be 2 very small "clips" that slide onto each side of the Starter Retainer Ring, which then allows the Starter Retainer Ring to be set into place on the Gas tank. However, one is missing - any idea where such a part could be found? I'm not even finding a parts # or listing for this item . . . thanks, R
