Hello,
I am converting my 470 to a single wire alternator. I have searched but cannot find anything that tells me what to do with the orange and the red/purple wires that are now on the old regulator. Should I leave them there? I understand that I will run the new red from the alternator to the starter post. Also, I am getting conflicting advice about removing the coils from the stator after the conversion. How hard is this to do, and is it necessary? My local shop is building me an alternator with spark arrestors, and I have built the mount for it.
Thanks for your help.
