I recently had that common leak from the weap hole on my 470. I did the redi sleeve repair and it worked out great. The problem now is that I am either burning or leaking coolant from somewhere else. The engine runs great and the guages read normal. After running the boat for any amount of time i begin to smell coolant burning and sometimes i get smoke. I check the engine each time and I cannot see any coolant leak anywhere. I am going through a full gallon of coolant each time I have the boat out. I fill it up and by the time i reach the dock shes bone dry again. Any ideas??? Where should I check and what should I do next? Thanks...

it could be leaking in the heat exchanger and running out the back

I am also in the process of tracking down a small don't know where it goes leak. If you don,t see anything on the outside (leaking hose, gasket etc.), there are only two possibilities, either it is going into the engine or you have an internal leak in the heat exchanger. Download service manual #8 (adults only), run the checks on page 6A-5. Should tell you what you need to know. Your local AutoZone should have a radiator tester that you can use for free (deposit is returned when you return the tool). The dye also sounds like a good idea. The (hot) fresh water from the exchanger is expelled with the exhaust, so the dyed coolant should show up behind the boat. Good luck.
