If you can cut some of the deck out it would really help with what you have to do. You can always repair that. I have had to pull engines to do that in the past.
It would help if you can run a 3/8“-16 tap through the 3 holes in the balancer to clear the threads. Depending on the thickness of the puller will determine the length of the bolts needed to mount It.
And as you already know you need a 3 slot puller with a centering point large enough to not harm the 1/2“ - 20 threads in the crankshaft.
I have had to do that job a few times so I feel your pain.

some of the damper pullers have both a long and stubby drive stud.

I have modified grade 8 bolts in the past to use with my damper puller vs trying to cut things out of the way.

Ok, good. All the advice is taken as i haven't had to pull one off of one of these as of yet. I was sent the picture, and asked how to get it off, and was told it didn't have holes in the damper for pulling. I guessed the pully was attached with bolts but was told otherwise. Reguardless, I have the pullers for removing and repairing it. Thank's guy's!

The pulley itself is one with the damper, it can't be removed separately. It seemed like the question was regarding the damper as a whole?

i should have been more specific. What the guy wants to do is replace the water pump. So I'd imagine the damper has to come off.
