470 line up to out drive

ok
i got the engine coupler back on [thank guys for help on that]
now my question is how serious is my line up putting the motor back
i dont want this to happen again by misalinment
if i bolt back up to back mounts and center front of motor to back of motor
and then level motor using front mount adjustment will that be close enough
to run with out misalinment problems

i hate to sound to stupid but what is it and how do it work it this situation
if it is possable to explain
my mind is pictureing something that slides into bellows through the gimble
to line up spline with out drive

Yoou figured right. Look it up on ebay you can usually pick them up on there for around 50 bucks.

But the question is ,"What caused the coupler to go bad"
Did you replace the rear mounts ,were they bad?
Was the front support bad ?
Most failures are from the rear mounts going bad and dropping the rear of the motor knocking out the alignment.

the one thing i noticed was someone had the motor out [i think]
before me and they did not put the springs back under the mounts
[i think that is where they go].
maybe that was the problem ? what do you guys think ?
the transom is still solid and the front mount is still solid
