Hi all, after overheating issues I found a 3/4 pipe where a 5/8 should have been on the transom water pickup. Replaced and tested in bucket prior to water test.

took a video and wanted your opinions as to whether it all looks good ?

Many thanks

It looks good on the trailer. Good first test but it needs to go in the water under load of course. Good luck.

Thanks all.

Just wondering whether the ignition timing needs doing.

Waiting for the weather here to lighten up and the tides to be right to put her under load now.

That's a "nice looking 470", Ron. I especially like the flame arrestor!

Thank you kindly.
The engine has had significant updates including the Ex Mani / Flame arrestor and much more.

I chose to keep the conventional distributor as I hear they are easier to service at sea than a petronix.
She's a 1977 and makes me wonder how reliable she'll be !

Not to be a na-sayer but, I've had them run all day in the water from idle to 2500 rpm and not over heat, but once you take them out, open it up to about 3500,and try to jump on plane thats your test.
