Found the 1146a kit for $63.95, then I don't have to worry about adjusting them again.

That is the Ignitor I, I believe, one problem as I understand it, with that unit is that if you leave the ignition on the unit can burn out and fail. IMHO the 91146A is a much better unit, although more expensive, is protected against that problem.

Re: 470 won't start - electrical short somewhere?

Terry,

Thanks for following up on that. I got excited when it was that cheap, but the 91146A is still only $94. The posts have said it like the 0.6ohm coil - so will get the flamethrower II as well. It wants a direct 12v line, so I need to disconnect the resistor wire and splice in a 12v line I think.

The coil that's on there now is oil filed. Is there much advantage to going with the epoxy filled version. It says more vibration resistant but doesn't cool it as well. I was planning on going with oil filled, since that's whats been on it for years.

Thanks

That is the setup! Make a solder splice near the choke connector, and coat it with a few coats of liquid tape. I just took my resistor wire off the coil, taped the end and rolled it up out of the way. Make sure you use stranded (not solid) wire for the hookup. The oil filled coil should be just fine. Good luck.
