Just rebuilt carbs on my 1989 48 hp rude. Ran like a champ at the house
took the gas good. Went to the lake and tried starting 3 or 4 times at ramp it would start but bog out when i come off of reving it up. Checked fuel at pump, carbs, both bowls are full and refilling. Checked the spark at both plugs very bright blue, put in a new set of plugs the old were fouled looking a little. Now it just spins over and over and over then sneezes or backfires one time every so often. Took the new plugs out and they arent even wet with fuel they are not getting fuel they are dry. I magine thats why it wont start. What could be my problem.

Go to the Engine FAQs Forum, Snake. Do "Outboard won't start".

Let us know what you find.

Are you pushing the key in while cranking to activate the primer? Is the fast idle (warm up) lever raised while cranking?
