I lived in Hawaii for a couple of years back in the early 90's and we got snow every year on Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, so much so that we could go skiing in the Morning and then go scuba diving in the afternoon, snow in Hawaii is a yearly even and has been going on for centuries..

We have best of both worlds in southern California. Snow up in the mountains to play in and now we are having 75 degrees this weekend. Going golfing this weekend here and up skiing in Tahoe next Wednesday.
