So I ordered a marine gasket set for the top end (cylinders, intake, exhaust, thermostat) my question is. I see that obviously they make "marine" gaskets for basically everything. Would a new rear main seal, timing cover seal & gasket, oil pan and others really need to be marine grade or would automotive suffice in these areas? Assuming since they dont touch any raw water they'll be fine just making sure.

Thanks

The things that have to be marine grade are head gaskets & core plugs & that’s only if you use raw water cooling.

water pump needs to be marine in addition to head gaskets and core plugs
