5.0 MPI Alpha Timing

MCM 5.0 MPI Alpha

Just swapped out the block on this engine, need to make sure I am not missing anything concerning the timing. It's set to TDC and distributor was installed as outlined in the manual with the tang between the two marks. Is that all? No need for base timing mode? The plug on the distributor remains capped? It doesn't go through any timing procedure in the manual other than the initial installation....or at least that I found.

As long as you have it positioned as described in the manual, the ECM and crank sensor will figure out the timing.
