5.0 repower.. was in gen 2 but i have gen 1

If a 5.0 was orginally hooked up to a alpha one gen 2, will it still bolt up to a alpha one gen 1? My boat has a gen 1 (i would have to regear it i know that) just wanna know that asode from mounting motor properly.. that the drive will plug into it.. my boat is an 1984

the motors should just bolt up but you dont list a year or serial number. No gearing change needed if there both 5.0`s
