I just bought the boat, even drove it and it ran fine. After doing a good cleaning, (hull and passenger area) we took it out and launched it, only it would not start. The sound was as though the battery was low. It did start to turn over, but just seemed to run out of juice. I could hear a relay clicking when I tried to start it. Put it back on the trailer and returned home and did a check with the prior owner. He said the battery had some age on it, so it was most likely the battery. I checked and sure enough, the battery was low, would only hold a charge a very short time. I went and got a new battery, 925 cold cranking amps, installed it and thought all would be fine. To make sure, I tried to start it, only got clicking sounds.
So what should I check next, and also where is it? I know where the starter is and I assume the solenoid is on top of it. Kinda hard to see with it down in a cavity.
Thanks in advance,
John
