I searched for this in the forum, but there are so many I couldn't narrrow it down. I want to swap the 2 bbl carb to a 4 bbl carb on my 305 once it's rebuilt. I have an aluminum intake and an Edelbrock carb. I know the bracket for the throttle is different, but what else will be different? My carb dosen't have a choke actuator. Is there an aftermarket that mounts to the Edelbrock?Should there be any issues with swapping the carbs? Also the cast intake that came off has a tube that hangs down on the right side( looking from the back), it bolts on the top side of the intake. The 4bbl intake dosen't have a place for this. What is it and is it necessary? Thanks for any help.

The edelbrock should have an electric choke. That's what that tube is for so you don't need it.

We need to know year and model of your engine. Pictures will help as well. A "tube" could be the fuel pump rupture discharge hose on pre-'98 or on '98 vortec, a heat transfer tube to warm the intake since it doesn't have exhaust cross-over ports.

Fuel line and flame arrester will have to be changed.
