Those models never had e-start or charging stator capabilities.

Not a hope. It's take most of it's power to run the generator! I use a 1' square solar cell to keep my starting battery charged on my 25hp and it lasts for the season.

Yes, not only can this model charge your batteries, but it can also clean your kitchen, scrub your toilets and landscape your yard. EVERY MAN'S DREAM!! I think we should all run out and buy a 5 1/2 today.:D:D:D

Did I mention that when the wife leaves us, we'll have no financial liabilities whatsoever?

I suppose it could if u took the prop off, cut a channel on the shaft for a v-belt and attached a small generator. But I suppose u want it to still drive a boat. So, no.

I had an old McColloch 7.5hp one time that did have the capability to charge, plus it was electric start. Pretty nice feature on that motor I thought.

Wow. Quite the features. I used to have a late 80's Evinrude Yachtwin 8hp longshaft for my sailboat that put out AC for lights so only would have needed a rectifier/regulator for charging but I never used the power side of it.

Yep. During the 1960's after McCulloch started puting their name on their outboards, it was a standard feature on the 7.5's. I also understand it came with a cigarrett lighter too. They also had a 6hp that was virtually the same as the 7.5, but I don't know if it had these options.

But can it clean up the workbench also?
