5.5 fisheman and simplex contols

Having a tough time getting my kicker motor set up on a Simplex control box....there just does not seem to be enough movement of the cables to move the motor through all the ranges needed on throttle, yet the throttle is only going from top to all forward, so would think soemthing is wrong. Can the box itself be adjusted inside? Cable maybe too short? I can't adjust the cable anymore.

Well I give up....can't get enough range in throttle to work this old motor...can only get partial throttle. This motor requires a lot of range yet the red trhrottle contol only allows half movement. It is at the "top" and moves forward all the way but that is not enough. I wonder why this box is set up this way. Looks like you could or should have FULL movement from back to front like the forward/neutral/reverse handle.....
