5.7 EFI exhaust temp update

just talked to the survayor the temps at idle raw water cooled are as follows <br />starboard/starboard 143 starboard/port 103<br />port/starboard 104 port/port 147..<br />ask if he thought i could make the 8-12hr trip home he said probly... also said merc has a new design manifold that is realy good... anybody heard of them and how much they cost and where to get them. thanx guys cant wait to bring her home!!!!!!

I have the "new" manifolds and risers. The are just coated on the inside with some ceramic coating. You can do 1 whole engine for $600 with mercrusier parts or $450 for aftermarket. I would definately replace them before I took a 12 hour trip. If they get to hot they burn out the rubber hose that follows them.<br /><br />Takes 1-2 hours/per engine to change everything out, as long as you have decent access. Do the spark plugs too while you are in there. They are super easy with the manifolds out of the way.
