5.7 gl-a sx-M sterndrive. I would like to buy a throttle cable but exploded view at shops says "obsolete" so not even part # is listed.
Does anyone know what should I buy ?

Thank you

Find the length of your current cable (case markings on the end will tell you) and order a Teleflex TFExtreme cable in the same length.

thank you. By "marking at the end" you mean there is a number on the cable to its end at the carburetor ?
and what about the gear shift (sx-M) cable ?

thank you

The throttle cable isn't Volvo.
It's probably Morse or Teleflex.
On one end or the other(pray it's on the carb end) is a bunch of numbers stamped in there.
Might be in inches or feet.
Just copy the #s and on this site I think they sell cables.
If not Amazon has them.
I replaced all 4 of mine for under 90$
The shift cable the same. The shifter your gonna need to take it off anyway so hope the #s are at the shifter on this one.
If not the cable will need to taken out to find the #s.
My cables are all the same length, yours might be different lengths so make sure of the lengths.
Make sure you get the right length,1 foot too short isin't good.Too long isn't either.
Had a customer complain about poor shifting after replacing the cables.
Turns out he had some cables from a 35ft and used then in his 19.
He had them looped around and the loops made the shifting sloppy.
Volvo made it simple and used a basic cable, nothing fancy.

The markings might be on either end, just depends on the cable and how it was installed. Usually the last two numbers are the length in feet, but if that doesn't make sense it might be the last three numbers in inches instead.

The shift cable is the exact same thing, exact same ends, just possibly a different length. Mine happened to be the same length.
