Runnub home from a nice day on the water I staryed hearing a pop sound. Woyld happen then nothing for severalminutes. Lifted the engine hatch and heard the pop coming from the carb. Any idea what this could be?

This is a very elementary response but how old is the gas? Please don't let it be ethonal. And new gas with a sea foam works wonders on a lot of engines. However, that is just a starting point. Keep us updated.

Last year's fillup and treatment for storage. Have burnt about half the fuel. I checked my rotor and cap and they both have a white build-up and some black streaks. Planning a full tune-up Saturday. I will treat with seafoam and top off also. Engine has 450 hrs and ran great for my opening run (65 miles). I will post my results.

Turns out I had an intake valve that was not completely closing. Adjusted the valve and problem was solved,
