Does anyone know the tap size for a distributor cap bolt? I had 2 bolts break off the stock caps, They were a pain to remove but i did it, Now I would like to chase the threads before i put the new cap and rotor on it. What is the bolt size thread pitch. Also will put a little antiseize on the new bolts.

Ayuh,..... Don S convinced Me, years ago, that form-a-gasket #3, which is Quicksilver Perfect Seal, Works Soooooo much better than never-seized ever has for such things,......

I donno which distributor is in yer motor,.....
Do ya have the full alphanumeric model/ serial number for it,..??

I'd Guess, probably a # 10, or # 12, fine thread, unless it's metric,.....

I believe they are metric. the EST distributor is the same. I really need to write this down, but one of my mine was stripped, so I had to tap it out to the next size. Memory isn't very good but think it was M4 screw size up from M2

Never use always-sieze on a marine motor

The graphite in anti-sieze promotes corrosion in aluminum and steel when exposed to salt water. Put it on a stainless bolt in an aluminum housing in a marine and you will not get the bolt out....

Galvanic corrosion will fuse it all together

galvanic corrosion doesnt care, its just slower in fresh water. if you want something to use on the screws, use tefgel or permatex #3
