5.7 Litre Mercruiser Inboard

I am having problems starting the boat once it warms up and shut off for a brief period. I did a complete tune up distributor, points, condensor, & rotor. Replaced the ignition coil as well. Boat runs good idling and running top speed. Any thoughts?

is the carburetor flooding the engine upon shut down?

see if fuel is dripping down into the intake immediately upon shut down, if so you need to rebuild the carburetor
