hello all. 1979 searay 350 GM mercruiser--MR out drive. I'm in the prosess of building another engine and am useing as many parts as possible from original 350 (Cracked block).I have it stripped down and should be ready to remove this week(useing clymer manual).Looks like REMOVEING the out drive will be alot easier than reinstallation!! I bought a comlete used mercruiser 260 on ebay--disassemled and sent to machine shop shotpeened-bored 60 over-cleaned up crank-installed cam bearins- went through heads.Have block back on engine stand.I bought a master rebuild kit from machine shop, they mathed price I got from online. I asked him if gasket kit is for marine aplication he say's same he uses for marine builds--OK I hand him credit card,bend over and sign on dotted line""NOW I have rebuilt my share of engines,1st marine aplication though.Question#1 Both of my intake manafolds have a restricter plate on the rear ports,I'm assumeing they belong there but Clymer manual sucs--lucky to get torque specs!!!!!!More questions to follow as soon as I can to shop I'll get ya'll the brand and part # on this gasket kit. sorry this is so long but in future posts you'll have a clue of whats going on.
