5.7l mercruiser wiring question

I have a a 5.7l mercruiser in a chris craft. I inherited this problem from a previous mechanic, I put a new pigtail on the engine harness, I have these wires I have no idea what they go to or where, we’re previously hooked up to a relay but the previous mechanic caught it on fire. Any help would be appreciated

post your serial number of the motor for us to better help you.

also, the factory manual will have wiring schematics. but without a serial number, we are guessing at the vintage of the motor.

Where do I find it? Same spot as a small block Chevy on the front of the head?

no, metal tag riveted on the starter boss just above the starter. you need the mercruiser serial number, not the block serial number
