Hello guys - I am putting a volvo penta AQ225 together. It's an older 5.7L GM motor and I am having trouble finding where some hoses connect to. I bought the boat as a project and the engine was torn apart. The motor has closed cooling and its an older system. I have provided a picture as I know they work best. It's the chrome piping coming out of the intake manifold with the water temp sensor in it. Does the water circulating pump bypass hose connect to the chrome piping or? That's the only thing I can't figure out. Any help would greatly be appreciated, Thanks.

Did the boat have a water heater? Many times that hose heats the water in the water heater.

Yes, you must connect a hose from the chrome piping(isn't it stainless steel you have?) to the hole that is closed with a plug on the circulation pump. I'm talking about the plug that points directly out to the starboard side, not the one on the top of the pump.

When I installed fresh water cooling on my Volvo Penta V6, I didn't install this bypass hose, and the temp went up and down for the first 20 minutes of running time or so.

When this hose was installed, temp was stabile again.

Okay so I got it figured out. It does run to water tank heater. I am not even sure that things still works so I might deactivate it. Horizon yes you are right it is stainless and I don't know why I typed chrome lol. My water circ pump has an bypass tube at a 45 degree angle and I'm guessing is the outlet to the heater. Aftermarket stuff on this boat is killin me!! Thanks for the help guys!
