I just completed my new exhaust setup from the old log style on my 5.8.
Wasn't sure if there was a old post on the subject, thought others might want to know if it is a difficult transition.
I bought the kit, (about $700) that is the center riser conversion and I have to say it was quite easy. Toughest part was getting the rusted up nuts and studs out of the old manifolds.
Removing a bolt on each side that went down to stinger motor mounts, (which seem to be some sort of support for the old manifolds) was tricky also. 1/2" break over and a cheater and still no go. Ended up just cutting them off. I seen no other purpose for them.
Pretty much a weekend project for you DIYers. Wish I had taken pics as I installed. But will answer any questions about the installation if you like.
I hope to see better cooling and performance.
