I have a sea king 5hp model number gg8977a montgomery ward the serial if that helps is 85x740645. And what hypoid oil should I use ?

It is a 1958. "Hypoid oil" is a old term for automotive 90 weight rear axle lube. Nowadays, use 80-90 weight outboard gear oil.

EDIT: Your motor was built by the Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC). Many, but not all, parts were also used on Evinrude and Johnson motors at some time or other.
