Had a bud that shot an engine block with a 7mm mag; A piece of the bullet came back and got him in the gut; no more iron...

Used to mean a metal bullet covered with copper. That is what we used on the firing range in boot camp.

Ya mean "full metal jacket"? And I edited my other post ..instead of targer..meant Target!. Still seems weird that it would fly back that quick and punch out his ear protecters..maybe a pissed off neighbor just over the hill shot back? (Nam Vet..gun truck mechanic on convoys in 2 Corp, and we had a turret 50 Cal, and 2 M-60's, personal M-79's each, and of course the trusty M-16's..great fun, free bullets, no rules, free beer and cigarettes, small towns with loose women) some pix of the beast, in Plieku (2 Corp), just after Ben Het had the crap blown out of them in early 69..Second pic of what an RPG will do to (or try to do) to our Armor..(couple feet higher, no way we would have survived..)

Guess this belongs in the Stupid Human Tricks threads. Wow, you can hear the whizz of the malformed jacket as it's coming back at him. I've fired a lot of rounds out of my 50BMG rifle and heard a lot of riccochets like that, but always going the other way, lol. Must have hit just the right combination of rocks or corners in an engine block to get any mass coming back that fast. Gotta be carefull out there!
