My brother has a late 90's 4 stroke Mariner 50hp engine that has been working great until now.
Upon his second trip after dewinterizing, he stalled and had to be towed in. When he removed the cowling, he noticed a "lot" of fuel spuirtting from the engine. Now, my brother is not very mechanical so he could't really specify exactly where the spill was coming from but by the sounds of it, it was in the area of the carbs.
I know this is a tough one but I thought I'd try to get to get some advice before I head over there to try to fix it. I'm thinking it's a simple hose leak.
Any pointers on what might be the likely cause, what tools to bring and parts?
