I have this 50 hp force motor that is really beginning to get on my nerves and hope someone can relieve a little of my stress. The symptom (probably needless to say) is running fine at low speeds but up near and at full throttle gas spits out of the side of the carb and engine will begin to act up until I back off on the throttle to half or less. All indications of my issue seem to point to one or more of the following; (a) a stuck float (b) bad needle valve seat (c) float not set correctly (d) float not "floating" any more or (d) crap in the fuel/lines etc. I've eliminated all of these. I'm wondering now if it is possible that the fuel pump is just pumping too much pressure...and if so, any way to cut it back. ? Will a fuel filter between the pump and carb do this? Thanks in advance for anyone who would like to help!!
p.s. I've had this motor for a couple of seasons and it has been acting this way for nearly since i got it. Its a mid-80's engine and I know very little about the history of it.
