Sounds like ya' might have a broke control cable monk. Pop the hood and watch the throttle control cable while you work the control to WOT and back to neutral. You can do this with the engine not running. If the throttle arm on the engine doesn't follow the casing guide at the end of the control cable....something is amiss.

OK...pull the cover off the carbs (if there is one) and watch the throttle plates and linkage at the carbs....make sure nothing is sticking open. A year for the engine might help to monk.

With engine setting deader than hell. Are the throttle plates closed down tight on those two carbs.

Control lever in neutral. If they are open you have a linkage thats fell off.

Your carbs shore as hell aint workin fine. Your gona blow your motor sky high here purty damn soon.

Now dont tell us what you think we wana here. We have to know what your seein, when you look down the throat of your carburators....!

Then I spect somebody round here can hep ya uh bit.

Good Luck!

Is the idle speed screw resting on the idle stop?

Might be worth checking all fuel lines, etc, for a leak. If you are sucking air it could make the engine rev high.
