Re: 50 hp performance

the stator wires are very thin wires that move with the throttle [to advance and retard timing as needed ,it moves with the throttle linkage ]you might check your link and sync to be sure that you are within spec and to check the stator wire to make sure they're not broke and momentarily loosing connection when the throttle is advanced[touching again when the throttle goes back to idle position]. A slight pull on the wires will tell if they're broken in the insulation , or better yet check them with an ohm meter, and I don't think that a loose or bad neutral safety switch will cause it to die upon acceleration .Also I have to know, whats a neutral warm up?????? keep us posted what you find

Neutral warm up, you can pull the throttle out and advance it to a higher idle position without it being in gear. I am going to pull the flywheel and check very carefully what you have suggested. I have never seen anything like this, it is like you turned the key off, when the throttle is advanced. It must be a bad wire under the flywheel.

I pulled the flywheel, the magnet on the inside has broken loose, and is moving around. Is this just glued in???

Mort, if the magnet isn't broke ,yes you can glue it with some premium epoxy ,making sure it's tight against the flywheel[ I use light pressure clamps to hold it firmly to the flywheel around the edge].Hope this helps, keep us posted on your progress. ROLL TIDE MOPARMAN
