50hp '91 force
There is a 1/8" hole by one of the bolts that seperates the lower 1/2 of the motor just above the foot oil vent. It is hidden by the head of one of the bolts. Is it a drain or is it a welding job? I didn't know it was there till I had the hose hooked up to the motor and saw it leaking water from it.
Rig

ps its also overheating, where is the thurmostat located? (impeller good and 2 holes spitting water)

Thermostat is under a metal cover plate, top/back of motor, above the top sparkplug.

Believe that is just a drain hole to make sure there is no water left in there. It is fine as long as the water is not getting into the lower unit lube.

There is water getting in with the oil but not sure where its comming from.
maybe that hole or seals. although seals were replaced and it didnt fix the problem.
There must be diagrams available online somewhere.

the thurmostat is missing, i had that cover off and it wasn't there so i though maybe it was hidden somewhere else..thanx
Rig

Drain the oil, remove lower unit, get small fitting that will screw into the lower unit drain or fill hole. Rig the other end up to accept an air hose.

The real important part is to not use more than 5# of pressure, or you could push the seals out, so no big air compressors.

You can submerge the lower unit, or coat it with soapy water and watch for bubbles/leaks.
