Hello everyone, last thread was unrelated so here we go.
I have a 50hp blueband mercury 1979, 2 stroke, serial no. is 2948379
I have a couple of quetions if anyone could help me.
I lost the impeller key, I must have done or it was removed by someone else. I didn't ever see it, even when impeller was on drive shaft. How much do these cost in UK for an impeller kit, is there a part no. I have a manual but its not specific for some reason.
I can't find a stop switch on the engine. There is a socket on the front but the wire coming out the back has been snipped, where does this go, if you earth it, does it stop sparking???
I have removed the L/U. Now to put back on, is there a technique for this engine. Do I put both sections in forward?? How does the gear change system work in the L/U? I have tried turning the small shaft with the splines on it and can get prop shaft to go forward and reverse but no neutral.
