50hp Force runs on 1 cyl (prestolite ign)

I just hooked up a 50hp Force and sparked the ground and 1 magneto wire on ignition switch while checking connections. Now motor only runs on 1 cylinder and if I hook up the black(ground) wire to ignition switch, the circuit breaker will trip when key is in the "on" position. Any suggestions???

Sounds like you blew a CD module. To confirm this, switch the two modules, and see if cylinder which is missfiring changes to the other.<br />This is just best guess,so let us know if the modules are both ok.<br /><br />------------------<br />Quater Horse; The kiddy ride in front of K-Mart.

Ok, it Does have 2 CD modules. These capacitive dischrage units have the coils<br />integrated into them. now, the magneto wire you refered to, does it have a brown wire<br />comming out of each one?<br />Is the module blue in color?<br />If so, these are the CD modules. If you can start the motor on the muffs and get it to run on the one lung, pull one of the plug wires. If it's stalls,that cylinder is good,and the other is the one we need to start working on.<br />BTW, be carefull when pulling,and make sure you are well insulated from it!<br />These CD systems have one heck ova bite!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />------------------<br />Sandbar?
