could anyone tellthis thick englishman how to time my 1988 vro 50hp johnson .some knowall has messed with the adjustment rod connected to the stator under the fly wheel- not me i add.<br /> many thanks<br /> bob

Bob,Cant help you much with your problem. But you should get a manual for your motor. There is a tab for manuals above.Manuals are worth every penny! Every body wants to tell you... Get a manual..get a manual. If we get a manual , we would'nt need to ask questions here . I had the exact same question as this guy . Besides , most of the time , or at least some of the time manuals are not as clear as they could be , and someone who's done it before can kind of walk you through it better . Just like yesterday i searched this forum over and over for the best way to get a "stuck" carrier out of the foot , to get to the clutch dog , no answers , however i visited a local boat repair center and in two minutes got all the answers and then some .
