50hp speedo pickup

Can anyone tell me where its located? I went through some seaweed and now speed only records half speed it should. I've seen this question asked in the past, but I couldn't find it in the archives.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /> Jerry

Look on the front or leading edge of the lower unit just above the bulge of the gear case. Should be a small "V" shaped notch, not very big.

Blow it out with comressed air, after unhooking it up top.
