Re: '53 Super Fastwin......it wants to run. It really does!
Re: '53 Super Fastwin......it wants to run. It really does!
It is highly exagerated in a test tank, and is a worry to all new "tinkerers", but is normal. Not quite the same on the lake. I run my Fastwins at 24:1, but the extra oil wont hurt anything.
Regarding the oil, I am now modifying my Big Twins to be more "green". It is a process of blocking the dumped excess oil that normally goes through the exhaust. Once the passage is blocked, you add a nipple in that location, along with a fuel line routed to a catch bottle. I am going to add a fuel pump to them, yet keep the pressure tank for the vintage look. The normally "air" line will now be an oil return line back to the tank. Hardly noticable to the untrained eye, and keeps the lake clean.
