Hi small block
These cracks in your lower units, are they actualy in the oil holding area? Sometimes the drain holes plug up over time. Water trapped in non-sealed areas freezes and causes a superfacial split or crack. If this is the case things might not be as bad as it looks.

Hi small block
since I can't see them cracks I can't say for sure. You will have to make the call. Are the cracks in line with a drain hole? I would drain the gear oil, see what it looks like. If it looks ok your probably good. A vacuum and presure test is the way to go.
If I find this problem to be non lethal. I will try to clean out down to the crack or drain hole. Sometimes its just too much of a pain, I just drill another drain hole above. As far as the crack in the exhust housing goes, you might be able to have it welded. Do a little investagating, be careful of stuck bolts, use a little heat, go slow. Let us know what you find.
