55 hp johnson

Should my 1977 55 hp johnson have water stream from the cooling sytem? Just got the boat. It ran good the first 2 trips but now have to clean the carbs. I just assumed this older motor doesnt have the tell tale pee stream (if you will). Should it? Thanks!

yes it does, if it not the typical pee stream coming from the power head then its further down. my '59 johnson cooling exhaust was almost down to the lower unit.
p.s. get a manual, they save time and money

Actually, no it doesn't have the typical tell tale. You'll get a small amount of water out of the top exhaust ports, but most exits through the prop. I just finished tuning one up.
