'55 Johnson lower unit

Does anyone know what motors the lower unit from a '55 johnson 25hp will fit? I know it will fit the 30hp Johnnys and Evs from '55 and '56. I specifically need to know if it will fit a '56 15hp. Thanks.

It will NOT fit a 15hp. Way too big. It will FIT the 35hp 1957-up, but should not be used there because the 35-40 has a stronger pinion bearing arrangement.

If you need a 15hp lower unit, you'd need one from a '55 & up 15 or 18 hp Johnrude, or a '55-'57 10hp Johnrude.

Ok, will it fit a 1954 Big Twin Electric Model #25916? I'm tyring to sell it on Ebay and people are asking what models it will fit. Thanks guys.

It will NOT fit a 1954. It will fit a 1955-56 Evinrude or Johnson 25-30hp. And it will fit Gale-built 25hp motors 1955-up. See previous post concerning the 35hp motors.
