I need some clarification on the riptide series. I am looking at the 55# Riptide ST and SP. I want to stay around the $850 area for a trolling motor. With that said, I can get the SP with Copilot and Autopilot or the ST with just the Copilot. I know the difference between them are the mounting/stowing features. Just not sure which is the best or just to go with anything that has the Autopilot feature. On the other hand I have read that the Autopilot has issues being on a 12v system. Apparently the Autopilot must have atleast 11.5v or something to that nature or it will start to act up. Not sure how true it is as I am rigging my 16ft with the battery in the back. Im fishing a saltwater lake/inshore for specs and reds....may get into bass fishing later on.
