I have a 55lb thrust minnkota that is a hand throttle (5 forward, 3 reverse), that I want to mount to the bow. It has a rear mount on it and I can't seem a mounting kit for the front. I've seen that some people talked about making thier own brackets. I was wondering if anyone has done so or found a bow mount kit for that motor. If so, could you try to give a description and a picture? Thank you

What kind of boat are you dealing with? Pics of the bow would help as well if possible. Basically you can take a screw out and spin the tiller 180 degrees. That way the handle won't be pointing forward off the bow where you cannot reach it(been there...done that).

As far as mounting...tough w/out knowing what kind of boat. With a alumnum boat that has thin gunwales it can be mounted by simply placing a piece of wood between the inside hull and the motor. If the sides are thick then a canoe-style motor bracket design would work.

I don't blame you for wanting to do this yourself as the bow mounting kits are ridiculously expensive from Minn Kota.
