I'm trying to fix up on old cd-12. I've changed out the ignition parts, the impeller and rebuilt the carb. I tried to start it over labor day but couldn't due to fact that I could keep the motor from flipping up out of the water. The recoil starter was pretty tough to pull. Should the little lock mechanism that locks the drive shaft to the transom bracket be adjusted so that it locks when the engine is in neutral? Also, I've read somewhere where you should put of few drops of fuel in the cylinders to lube them up. I didn't have a chance to do that. Would that help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
