Re: 57 sea king spark?
I'm not sure which coils are in your '57, the old style or the 'new' one. Either way, if you don't have spark the problem lies under the flywheel. So it's going to have to come off. There's two methods for doing this, one which is cheap and works well, but involves hammering on the top of your crankshaft. The other involves the use of the proper puller or an inexpensive subsitute.
To use the hammer method, back off the flywheel nut until it's past the top of the crankshaft, then pry up on the flywheel with a screwdriver and tap the flywheel nut with the hammer.
The method I prefer is to use an automotive 'harmonic balancer puller' and three 1/4"-20tpi bolts:

This eliminates the possiblility of crankshaft or bearing damage.

Once the flywheel's off you can asses things. Normally the points just need to be cleaned and gapped at .020". I use ultra-fine sand-paper, then clean them with acetone. But if the coils are cracked or broken, a common condition on the later style ignition coil, they'll need to be replaced.
