Thanks to you guys I got this motor running like a champ. Now I am trying to add controls and steering to the front of the boat so when I take my wife out I dont have to keep switching seats with her. Bought a nice set of simplex controls for 20$. But now I need to get the retainer clips for the trunion nuts. Does anyone know where i can get them? Do I need a part #? Also for the steering I was thinking of buying the EZ stick system, as I have no room for a steering wheel. Does anyone have this system? Is it worth the money? Is there a better option? Any input would be appreciated.:)

you will need the universal mounting plate for the steering tube.

no, if you notice on top of the cowl is an aluminum pole, that is my stern light.

you can easily put a start and kill button on the console. all you would need are three push buttons. start, choke, kill.

camra pics 016.jpgI have the parts for the linkage.

Thanks for all the info. It will be very helpful. But the parts i need are the clips that keep the cables secure at the motor. My motor was missing those when i got it. i can see where they were but they are gone. I can probably rig something up. But prefer to do it right.

Try Engine, Blade and Prop in Milwaukee, WI...they are online.
I forget the name of that part, I always call then them cable retainers...they have two U-shaped notches. Make sure you get the size rated for your motor...the one for Big Twins are a bit larger than smaller hp motors.

I believe this is what I am looking for. I found it on e-bay. They called it "Evinrude Johnson motor shift Throttle cable Bracket". This one is for a 40 hp outboard and mine is only 10. And they only have one and I need both. Anyone know the proper name or part# for this part? Or where I can get a set?
