58 'rude 7.5 (carb float and misc)

hey guys, just pulled the carb on this motor and the exhaust cover. Need to know if the dealer carries a new float or where I can get one? Also the plate behinds the exhaust cover has alot of carbon on it. Best way to clean it? and need a new gasket? Where? thx

Yes you can get a carb kit with plastic float at the dealer.

Is the plate rotting with holes? 1946Zephyer on this forum is selling new plates. As far as a gasket, make one, get one at the dealer, or order from any online source, likely iboats may have it. Part number 202580

If the plate is solid, just dirty, clean with any handy solvent, carbon remover that you have on the shelf.

hey thanks. I went to marine engine.com and they don't have the schematics for the 58 evinrudes,but they have it for the 58 johnsons and the 57 evinrudes? looks like all the same parts, as far as powerheads,carb parts and gaskets.Is this correct? I found a 58 'rude schematic at crowley marine, but some of the part numbers are hard to read. Thanks.

Same as the Johnson for what you need.

Hey Chris. Thank you kindly for spreading the word. I've only sold a couple of those plates, so I have plenty left.
